About Me

A little of what makes me -- ME...

To tell you a little about myself, I am 29 years old; My Birthday is on July 17th. I am a single mom with two boys.

My hobbies are decoing, yahoo groups, reading, writing, scrapbooks, listening to music and dancing (when no one is looking) watching movies (not TV),  building websites, and sitting under the maple tree in my backyard and watching the kids play.

I collect giraffes, marcrest pottery, stickers, oriental items, any thing odd and unusual, fossils, stone carvings, dragons, faries, and blue's clues stuff.

I like  anything with  giraffes, celestrial (stars & moons), mid-evil (knights, castles, etc), Natural (flowers, fossils, nests etc) Oriental, Mystical (faries, magic, etc) Country Stuff, Suzy Zoo and Mary Engelbret.

My favorite colors are Blue and Gold. I really am in to earth tones.

I come from a semi-large family, three sisters and a brother. I am the baby of the family. We were traveling gypsies. We traveled all over the US on the Flea market trail. My father liked to move around.  My father is from Texas and is gypsy by blood and my mother is German. They met in Germany while my father was in the army. They have been together for over forty years.

Currently two of my sisters live in towns close by so I get to see them on a regular basis. My parents live with my brother and his  family. They own a mountaintop. I hope one day to own some land near them. There are just no jobs up there that pay what I want. My other sister lives two states away, we dont hear from her much. My family was once very close but somehow we all got busy and lost touch. That happens a lot I am told.

As Kids, Half the year my sister and I went to public school and then the other half we were taught by my mom. She was a real stickler for us to get our work done.  There is a flea market down south that I spent many summers watching the planes fly over. I cannot think of the name. Life was hard for us when we traveled though it was fun to meet all the new and interesting people. We had to work hard, following the flea-market trail.  We would travel around the states setting up at various flea markets. It was a lot to work setting up our stand and then usually packing it all up again in one day.

My father had a huge freezer truck that he carried our merchandise in and then hauled a trailer behind it. So we had a lot of junk to set up. The money was tight but I think my parents enjoyed showing us all the sights and introducing us to the world.  Our home base was always the same town.

The only thing that was hard for us was making friends. Sure we knew a lot of other kids with the other peddlers but staying in touch with each other was hard. With all our mail being delivered to our home base we never got the letters till we stopped in two or three months at time. So we lost contact with them pretty quick and usually all the friends Id make in school would have moved on to other friends and I would be a stranger when I came back. So making friends for me is a very important thing.  Since I really didnt have any for the first 15 years of my life.

I would love to travel with my children like I did with my parents. But the times have changed and I dont think I could support them properly moving around so much. I would like to do it for a whole summer but I do not believe  that it is possible considering it would be near impossible to get off of work for it..lol

All dressed up.

I love that dress!

I always enjoy wearing dresses, they really boost my ego..lol. as if it needs to be any bigger. The dress I am wearing to the left is one of my favorites. It is made of a black undergarment with a sheer top garment with intricate embroridery. The sleeves dangle down in  a V like the mid-evil ladies gowns did. It makes me feel like a type of farie princess when I wear it.

Which is not often, as being a mom of two, I find that my dresses get messed up too easily when picking up a child that just made a mud pie out of the back yard...lol. I mostly wear jeans and t-shirts with sneakers.
